Neighborhood: Earth - Host: Randy Wheelock
Regarding the environment, we each tend
to blame the generation before ours for what they have left
us. Born in 1948, I can forgive my grandparents and parents
for what they left behind. They thought the planet's endurance
was infinite. Today though, all of us know the consequences
of our actions. If we do not make the right decisions from
this moment forward, we will not be able to look our grandchildren
in the eye when they ask, "Why did you trade my future
for your ability to waste and pollute? Where was your foresight?
Where was your courage? You knew!" On Neighborhood: Earth
we discuss sustainability: the measure of how well we create
our own lives without degrading the same opportunity for future
generations. We examine energy use, waste streams, climate
change and the health aspects of the materials we consume.
